“With Ethan, in The White Lotus, I think what I liked about him was that he is morally grey. So he’s not a stereotype. He’s neither this super nerd, nor is he this cartoonish villain. He’s a complicated man. I think any actor, whoever they are, just wants a point of view and complexity and that’s it really. You just want anyone to be able to give any kind of character a shot. It’s refreshing when you’re asked to play a role where your ethnicity or how you look has nothing to do with it.”
