DIRTY TALK

Tatiana Ashborn’s platform is nearing 100 million views, marking an expanding space for conversations on sex, relationships, and identity.

Topics that were once taboo to talk about are increasingly becoming more accepted and encouraged — and leaders such as Tatiana Ashborn are paving the way. A clear marker of this is the success of her viral sensation, dirty talk, which is rapidly nearing 100 million views. The award winning BRIT School graduate first began working on the project as a screenplay — and has since grown the idea into a multi-channel platform reaching viewers across the world. Focused on sex, identity, and relationships, she tackles all the topics that might be difficult or uncomfortable to talk about, but that are important nevertheless. She balances lighthearted and playful content — instructional videos such as sex position tutorials — with hard hitting, serious conversations about identity, consent, boundaries, and love.

Nearing 100 million views, Tatiana is truly creating a movement. Perhaps what makes dirty talk so special is the honesty and openness of not only the founder herself, but of her guests as well. This candour has created a beautiful space of discussion, where viewers share their own stories and connect with one another — facilitated by Discord and Reddit channels. With the expanding network of dirty talk, and the growing community of viewers, the space for people to ask questions and become comfortable around such topics is rapidly accelerating.

Congratulations on this milestone, Tatiana, and thank you for all you do!

We heard from Tatiana about dirty talk, nearing 100 million views, and what’s next. Read below…

dirty talk is nearing 100 million views. How does it feel to reach that many people?
It is insane, I literally cannot believe it and I am super thankful for all the people watching and making it what it is. I feel like it isn’t real and doesn’t seem believable at times and I cannot wait for future developments. I just hope everyone is learning a little more and it’s helping people to feel less alone.

What were your initial goals with the platform?
My initial goals were to do a few episodes, see where it got me but have fun whilst doing it. I originally wanted to put on a live show of my play – dirty talk – but then COVID hit so it had to slightly change. I knew I wanted dirty talk to be a movement but I didn’t realise the potential.

How has it gotten to where it is now?
I absolutely love dirty talk and I think that is what has helped me pursue it. It is not only a job but a hobby and I can’t imagine myself not doing it. Working with TikTok has definitely helped with the growth; making short clips ‘reels’, and using humour as my forefront. I am continuously working on dirty talk and improving each little detail. I continue to make more content and find fresh ideas to help individuals resonate and continue watching.

Hitting this milestone, is there anything specific you’re particularly proud of?
I am particularly proud of my guests feeling accepted enough to share with the world their own paths especially when it is such a private topic for some. I am very pleased that the audience is connecting with it and sharing their own stories because it just makes me happy with how I could have impacted someone else’s life. I am proud of how I’ve grown with it too. It has educated me and helped me distinguish who I am in this world today.

What are your plans for dirty talk moving forward?
I cannot wait to travel with dirty talk again and interview people from all walks of life across the world. I would love to take dirty talk to festivals, including Pride to continue the conversation also. I would love to interview people with a wider following so it will help more people listen and feel less ashamed to have this conversation. Collaborations with health centres, schools and sex brands would be incredible too to break the taboo.

Keep up with dirty talk and Tatiana Ashborn here!
