NEW NOISE: RARRI DREAM

The New York-based rapper discusses motivating young fans with uplifting single, and his own inspirations and dream collaborators.

American rapper Rarri Dream is making music true to himself, and inspiring the next generation of artists while doing so. Since the age of 14 years, he has been writing songs, working as a music engineer, and developing the sound he is now known for. A mix of R&B, hip-hop, pop, and rap, his signature soundscape is something completely unique and notably his own. After moving from Georgia to New York, where he resides now, he has continued expanding his career and growing a fanbase eager for more music from the star.

“Money Coming”, a recent single of Rarri’s, depicts the grind that the artist has been on, and the idea of trusting the process that success and financial stability will come with hard work. Motivating and inspiring, it is in line with Rarri’s overarching goal of leaving a positive impact on youth and the young fans who look up to him.

We had the honour of speaking with Rarri Dream about “Money Coming”, his inspirations and dream collaborators, and what’s to come.

How did you get into music?
I got into music because of my parents always playing it, but I specifically got into hip hop because of my dad. He’s a big hiphop fan so I would listen to all of the rap CDs he would play in the car while riding with him.

What is it about music and creation that you love?
I love music because it’s a way to show the world your emotions and experiences with your life, and show people they’re not the only one going through something.

Who inspires you?
Kid Cudi, Travis Scott, Kanye West and A$AP Rocky, and also my friends and family.

How would you describe your style?
Colourful but also edgy. I feel I can’t classify my style because it’s so diverse. I might wear something one day and then something total opposite the next day.

What artists would you love to collaborate with?
Drake, Kid Cudi, Ye

Why do you make music?
To get my story out there and to show the youth you can do it too, also to tell them you’re not alone and other people feel the same as you do.

Talk us through the creative process of the new track “Money Coming”?
It was very fun. I remember trying to look for a studio in NYC and I just came across this studio in Queens, and once I got there the vibe was great. The engineers were very professional and helpful, so I didn’t find it hard being very confident and comfortable recording it. I feel like recording should never be a challenge and you shouldn’t feel pressured, it should come easy.

What are you trying to convey with the song?
The grind. Everyone knows how hard it is in the world, especially financially, so I’m just giving motivation and inspiration for my fans to go get it and that it’s coming.

What is to come from you in the next year?
I’d like to say more success, travelling and things outside of music like fashion, acting and maybe modelling.

What are your career goals?
I just want to be one of the biggest impacts on the youth because I know how I looked up to musicians as a kid; they were like superheroes. Also I would love to have my own shoes.
