Ivan Jackson’s Grammy award winning project, Brasstracks, has embarked on a new era. Following the success of “Anesthesia”, a single featuring Mandy Lee of MisterWives, the New York-based musician and producer is back with “Indigo”. A playful and relatable track about not being a morning person, it serves as the title track for an upcoming album. Maximalist yet intimate, it hides hardship within blast-worthy, fun sonics, creating a complex duality that resonates with all. Groovy and soulful, the song will get you on your feet and have you singing along in no time.

“I’m not good in the mornings, but I’ve always been productive in the evening,” Jackson explains. “My productive evenings turned into productive late nights, which turned into productive early mornings. I remember waking up when the sun was going down for most of the winter. I thought nothing of it. My managers, my collaborators, my peers — everyone had more equilibrium than me. I looked at that like my superpower. If you know me, you know not to call me in the morning. ‘Wake me up when the sky’s more Indigo.’ I knew I had the album concept on my hands. My nocturnal super powers.”

Indigo will be released on June 2 and cover a widespread variety of topics — most coming down to jealousy. Highly anticipated, it will continue to position Brasstracks as the next big thing.
