Born in Ohio, LIBERATI initially fell in love with music via his uncle, a renowned musician in the local area. Growing up surrounded by the art form, he began developing his sound and method of storytelling from a young age, before moving to Los Angeles. Once on the West Coast, he started incorporating the soundscapes of eternal summertime into his classic Midwestern charm — creating a unique mesh all his own.

LIBERATI’s newest single, “Famous”, perfectly embodies this sound. All encompassing, it is an explosion of electric guitar, drums, saxophone, and synth-centred production. Funky, groovy, and golden, it is the epitome of a feel-good track, bound to get you up on your feet and dance. Lyrically, it was inspired by a sunset he almost missed by looking at his phone, scrolling through images of old friends who lost themselves to find fame.

“I had this old instrumental track I laid down one night as a pop song concept, and then somehow forgot about it for a good 6-9 months”, LIBERATI explains. “It was mostly 80s style synths and a programmed drum groove. It was fun, but felt a bit lifeless until one night I came up with the bass line with a brand new bass I’d been dreaming about for most of my life. My wife got me this vintage style Fender P bass for our first anniversary. I plugged it in and immediately started smiling and grooving. After that, I couldn’t put the song down and knew it needed to be my next single”.
