PORTRAIT MILANO

The former Archbishop’s Seminary is reborn as a cultural destination.

Portrait Milano, the Fashion District’s heart of hospitality and culture, is a beautiful blend of history and modern day. What was once the former Archbishop’s Seminary at Corso Venezia 11 has been restored by the Ferragamo family’s Florentine hospitality brand Lungarno Collection with architect Michele de Lucchi. Reborn as a destination for eating, shopping, and relaxing, it is open to the public for the first time in decades. With the central courtyard Piazza del Quadrilatero and a new promenade connecting Corso Venezia with Via Sant’Andrea, the space hosts a collection of restaurants, bars, stores, as well as a wellness centre. For visitors and local residents alike, Portrait Milano brings people together just as it bridges historic elements and contemporary values.

Portrait Milano was recently chosen as an exhibition space for Milano Design Week, for Audi’s House of Progress. Shown in Piazza del Quadrilatero, the exhibit featured Gabriele Chiave’s The Domino Act, an art installation focused on the values of the circular economy. 22 monoliths were displayed in a circle, interacting with light and the surrounding environment to display how one decision can impact a chain reaction.
