PREMIERE: NATHAN MORRIS — “DANGEROUS”

The artist-slash-mortician doesn’t shy away from difficult discussions in his new emotional ballad.

Nathan Morris has released a new single, “Dangerous”, and it’s an emotional one. The artist, entrepreneur, and mortician — yes, you read that correctly — brings his distinctive experiences to his work and crafts a world all his own. Nathan doesn’t seem to ever shy away from a topic, no matter how frightening or taboo it may be to some.

From Kentucky, Nathan Morris has grown massively online, building a TikTok subscriber base of over half a million. He uses his platform to speak about the often unspeakable, yet daily topic of discussion for him: death. He creates a space for healthy dialogue and breaks down barriers through letting his viewers into his life as the owner of a successful mortician business.

This ability to connect with people is also what makes Nathan’s music so impactful. “Dangerous”, a raw piano ballad with soft notes and strong vocals, gives many listeners the words to describe their own feelings. Through discussing his own personal struggles, Morris identifies so many others’ emotions, creating a song as universal as it is intimate. He poses questions that will leave listeners contemplating for hours and sings melodies that will get stuck in your head. Just when you think the song has come to a close, it comes back full force — with striking drums that send a shock through your veins. Chilling and powerful, “Dangerous” is accompanied by a black-and-white music video that lets us into Nathan’s Kentucky life as a musician, mortician, business owner, and community member.

Nathan Morris says, “Surrounded by death during Covid, as the leader and owner of a funeral home company, I was constantly bearing witness to loss; of will, of life, of self. I was merely a version of myself, and got tired of being jealous of the show version of me. The many masks I wore to keep things on track cost me my mental health. Confession has this therapeutic way of starting the healing process. Dangerous is that confession.”
