LONDON DESIGN BIENNALE 2023 — JOHN MACK

The international exhibition’s fourth edition, featuring the founder of the non-profit Life Calling, highlights the power of design.

The London Design Biennale is back with its fourth edition from the 1st to 25th of June, 2023. Established in 2016 by Sir John Sorrell CBE and Ben Evans CBE, it is a must-visit destination of global design — featuring artists from around the world. This year, under the artistic direction of the Nieuwe Instituut, it brings the participants to Somerset House for a month of art, innovation, and interactive projects all centered around the power of design. Under the subtitle “The Global Game: Remapping Collaborations”, it takes a specific focus on the meaningful international cooperation that pushes society forward.

Among the designers featured in the London Design Biennale is John Mack. Through his non-profit Life Calling, the author and artist strives to preserve humanity in the Digital Age. The organisation provides educational tools, runs programmes and community activations, and produces publications focused on the importance of balance. Mack was honoured in The Explorer’s Club 50, a collection of individuals making a true difference in the world, and works as a board member to protect kids from digital manipulation with the organisation Fairplay. Also a design lecturer at the University of Lisbon, John works across a multitude of positions and mediums and truly embodies the power of design.
