In a new Bloomberg report, it was revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery is close to finalising the deal for a seven-series show based on the original books. In a current climate of reboots, from That ‘90s Show to Bel-Air, this news is far from shocking. It seems like every show that was popular 20+ years ago is coming back. However, with a Broadway production, a new video game, and a fanbase just as strong as ever, it doesn’t feel like Harry Potter ever really went away.

We’re so excited to see how the new show will look. Technology has advanced significantly since the original Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone movie was released in 2001, and the choice of daring streaming platform HBO Max is bold. This is also an opportunity for the franchise to increase racial and sexual diversity, which the original movies lacked. The show has big shoes to fill, as do the actors who will replace Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint as Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Can they do it? With seven series planned, Warner Bros. seems confident.

Still in early stages, we can’t wait to find out more.
