LIPSTEREO — “PUSH THE TIDE”

Following a successful EP, the Australian indie rock band is back with a new single.

Formed in Melbourne in 2019 and known for their high-energy live gigs, Lipstereo is the work of frontman Sam Stranges on vocals and rhythm guitar, Andrew Stainsby on lead guitar, Tage Hosking-Gregory on bass and Jesse Porter on drums.

Following the success of their 2022 EP Modern Mythology, Australian garage rock band Lipstereo is back with a new single. Titled “Push The Tide”, the track speaks of honest themes through a catchy hook and full melodic sound. Between loud guitars and bass lines, Sam Stranges sings of “relationship ailments, parental entanglements and an appeal to be decisive on matters of trust.” The influence of bands such as the Arctic Monkeys is evident in the compelling lyrics and strong soundscape.

The “Push The Tide” music video, which feels like an intimate concert and lets us see the dynamic between the four-piece, was filmed in the Scrap Museum at Bakehouse Studios in Melbourne. It was telecast during the Let Me Help live-streamed benefit concert for Children of the World.

With “Push The Tide” and another single “You Got The Things” both out this year, Lipstereo aree already having a successful 2023 and they’re just getting started.
