American singer-songwriter and record producer, Alexander has written music since the age of 23 (no coincidence there). Since then, his career has steadily progressed. Writing and production credits on tracks by artists such as ROLE MODEL and Tate McRae, a grammy nomination for his work on Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album, Sour, and a platinum record of his own with “idk you yet”, Alexander 23 has established himself as one to watch.
“I Wanna Live Forever”, which was written and produced solely by Alexander, balances 90s production with raw lyricism. The result feels intimate and honest, yet universal just the same. “I Wanna Live Forever” captures a moment in time, conveying messages of staying present and allowing yourself to fall for someone without worrying about the future. “Good times don’t always have to be safely kept in the moment,” Alexander explains while discussing the song. And we are definitely lucky he chose to share this one with the world.
The music video further shows his breadth of talent, as Alexander switches effortlessly between instruments. Filmed in a driveway with his band members surrounding him, the video feels equally as personal and fun as the sonic approach of the single.
