PREMIERE: ELEANOR – “WASTE MY TIME”

The singer-songwriter treads the lighter side of her sound with her brand new single.

Beckoning in gentle guitar plucks and spine-tingling production, Eleanor unveils “Waste My Time” — an airy effort filled with blissful escapism. Inspired by a story of the periphery between a friendship and a relationship, “Waste My Time” explores the fleeting nature of time and its ability to make or break a moment — where a split second can change the course of an individual life forever.

Despite the tracks philosophical musings, “Waste My Time” remains a peaceful effort that matter of factly confronts life’s most difficult intricacies as they dissipate into a chorus of soul-laden beats. Proving Eleanor’s natural penchant for blurring genres, the R&B-leaning artist proves once again that she can enter any category – whether that be soul or indie – and detonate it from the inside.

Reflecting on her latest track, Eleanor explains, “It’s cheeky, flirty, and even has an unexpected lyrical reference in the chorus to ‘Kiss The Girl’ from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Writing this song helped me to recognise that not every song I write has to be deep and pensive, I can write things that feel light.”
