Seoul-based fashion designer Minju Kim is set to be the next featured designer in the V&A’s Fashion in Motion series. Kim, who launched her namesake brand in 2015 after winning the H&M Design Award, combines youthful playfulness and avant-garde haute couture in her imaginative collections. Her signature style features bold silhouettes with feminine characteristics and an overarching element of joyfulness.

The presentation for Fashion in Motion draws inspiration from the Korean folk tale of Bari, with intricate patterns and silhouettes that capture the essence of Korean tradition, while incorporating modern design elements. Kim expressed she was thrilled to showcase the charm of MINJUKIM at the event, while the V&A Senior Curator Exhibitions described Kim’s collections as exemplifying modern femininity.

The four fashion shows will take place on April 21 in the V&A’s Raphael Court and showcase looks from Kim’s SS22 and FW22 collections. Tickets for the shows will be available for free on the V&A website from April 5 at 10 am.
