First appearing on the scene back in 2019 with her vibrant debut “Dancing With Me”, Chiara King has gone on to achieve noticeable success, including an opening set for Jason Derulo at the Angel in London. With a sound that borrows influence from styles like Latin and dance, King’s colourful pop-laced approach is commercially viable and stylistically succinct. A series of singles followed her striking debut cut, but 2022 saw a hiatus from releasing for the singer-songwriter. She has now returned, better than ever, with “Party With A Monster”, a track that is entertaining, intoxicating and thought-provoking.

Atop an instrumental that wraps Arabic-infused melodies and Latin tendencies up in a dance floor ready pop soundscape, the track is a vital epitomisation on the range of influences that King ascertains. Lyrically, it’s an evoking and complex idealisation of a monster. There is a duality to the concept, with the monster idea providing a metaphor for her own relatable imperfections of temptation and toxicity, with King portraying herself as a monster when she goes out to party. There’s also the image of a mysterious man who she finds herself intoxicated with, looking for trouble in all the wrong places.

With a quickly growing fanbase and rising social media impact, Chiara King looks set to become a major player in the UK pop scene.
