BOSS recently unveiled its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, inspired by the city in which the show was held, Miami. The collection reflects the duality that lies within opposing states, a concept that was applied to the brand’s roots in men’s tailoring. The collection boasts a sophisticated and sleek idea of individuality, a reflection of the modern world and its ever-changing landscape.

BOSS’ collection features a lightweight, crinkled approach to materials, made up of a mix of buttery silks and smooth nylons that are pressed and enriched with a layer of colour. The brand’s signature tones of black, white, and camel are still present, but the collection also explores warm, muted colours in the form of sun-faded, powdery hues that mimic Miami’s Art-Deco architecture. The collection also contains vivid elements that draw out an understated air of desire through the use of sheer materials and the sophisticated implementation of well-placed cut-outs.

The set design of the show was equally innovative, with a modern, aquatic theme that gave the impression that the entire venue was surrounded by walls of water. The models were made to look as if they were actually walking on water, adding to the overall theme of flux.

Marco Falcioni, SVP of Creative Direction at HUGO BOSS, describes the collection as a fluid revisitation of the brand’s heritage tailoring, while offering a “see now, buy now” approach to key pieces. The collection is a sartorial depiction of looking back to move boldly forward into the future and embody the spirit of a true Boss.
