Anna Bea, the London-based singer-songwriter, has unveiled her latest single, “The Other Side of Me”. Vibrant and infectious, this pop anthem draws inspiration from the 90s and 00s, with hints of classic Carly Simon, Justin Bieber and vintage Alanis Morissette. Wielding a perfect concoction of insporation, the song’s heart makes the track all the more enticing.

Centred on embracing your true self and overcoming adversity, this message is sure to resonate with anyone who has ever felt like they need to hide part of themselves to please others. “The moral of the song is to get angry and get out when you’re in a toxic relationship, instead of being passive and people-pleasing,” Bea reflects. Accompanied by a split-screen music video that explores the same theme, the visuals take inspiration from “the ‘expectations vs. reality’ scene from the movie 500 days of Summer.”

The rising star has already amassed over a third of a million streams on Spotify, and more than 15 million views on TikTok. Leading to support from the likes of BBC London, BBC Introducing, BBC Bristol & Glastonbury FM – there’s no telling where Bea will end up next. That said, you can catch us keeping tabs on her.
