Experimentation is at the core of Febueder’s musical inventions. Their previous body of work, Tomalin Has Etched In, and it’s ensuing COLORS showcase, illstrated the brevity of creativity that the band uphold, and they have since gone from strength to strength in the build up to this new body of work.

Fashioned with Arthur Russell’s experimentation merged with playful pop sentiments, Follow The Colonnade is a engrossing and far reaching album with various cuts guaranteed to get stuck in your head. A multiverse of joyous textures, sculptured with a sense of spontaneity, the layered and explorative project is an ode to the power of leaving the confines of musical tradition.

Speaking on the record, the band comment, “Follow the Colonnade is about establishing a structure that supports the music which is made. Like some sort of alien axiom, it’s a mission statement, a commitment to a methodology. We wanted this album to be 9 songs that could
stand on their own, be heard out of context of the album and make a full and finished impression on a listener. These songs have more light to them than our previous album. They are brighter, more redolent of pop music. The goal was to have no added fat on this record. The first side is five songs that have been released over the last two years as singles, they’re direct and hit you quick with a point. The second side is a touch more of the non-linear. We cater.”

Dedicated to their craft, Febueder’s will be making an already busy year busier with their embarkment of a European Tour. The album is bound to cause a stir all I can say is brace yourself for the band’s takeover.
