WASSIM FAKHOURY – SEE THE ACT

A profile on the spearhead of See The ACT creative studios, who has pushed through thick and thin.

Meet Wassim Fakhoury – a creative force to be reckoned with. The founder and artistic director of See The ACT creative studios, Fakhoury’s passion for art and fashion began at a young age, nurtured by his family’s support. Despite growing up in a small town in southern Lebanon, Fakhoury’s dreams were always big.

After moving to Beirut to study filmmaking, Fakhoury found his niche in the world of cinema, and his unique style of filmmaking was heavily influenced by Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni. However, Fakhoury struggled to find someone who truly understood his artistic vision, so he took on various jobs related to filmmaking, including production design, art direction, and styling.

Although he worked with local Arab celebrities and magazines on editorials and personal projects, Fakhoury felt unfulfilled in the styling sphere. It wasn’t until he met Sami Semaan, a young man related to Berlin-based pop artist MOUGLETA, that Wassim found his true calling. Together, they created See The ACT – a platform for self-expression that showcases talented people and supports other artists.

Despite the challenges of working in Beirut during the 2019 revolution in Lebanon and the COVID-19 pandemic, Wassim and his team at See The ACT have continued to push forward. Their multi-directional creative studio produces everything from photo and video shoots to short and long feature films, advertorial conceptualizing and production, creative and art direction, content creation and branding, social strategy, visual merchandising, and window displays.

Wassim’s journey hasn’t been easy, but his determination and creativity have led him to where he is today. So if you’re ever in need of some artistic inspiration, be sure to check out See The ACT and see what Wassim and his team have to offer.
