The Squid Game and Parasite composer shares mesmeric new piano album.

With an award-winning career as a film and TV composer for some of the biggest film and TV releases of our times, the sound of Jung Jaeil isn’t something many will be unacquainted with. The South-Korean composer’s work on the Squid Game and Parasite soundtracks saw his ingenious, spellbinding craft beamed into movie theatres and living rooms across the globe, part of the fabric of what made such shows penetrate cultural consciousness in the way they did.

However, Jaeil’s new piano-centric album offers immersion in his adroit composition alone, as he draws on nature, humanity and the need for affinity with the world and those around us, via a new means of communication. “I’m just taking my first step with Piano, which is my voice,” the composer says. As he reveals his voice in the body of work, which emerges as a quiet moment of reflection, he has one wish for the listener: “I hope that you feel alive when you listen to my voice.”

The project is the latest in a heterogenous career for Jung Jaeil, who not only earned his composition chops working on iconic scores but equally as a collaborator in the K-pop sphere, having worked with some of the most eminent names in the scene, including 3Racha and IU.
