PREMIERE: ELLE PF – AFTER THE SNOW

The indie-rock group merge their classical training with an anarchical, experimental spirit in their third album.

Minneapolis-hailing four-piece Elle PF imploded onto our playlists with their debut album She Wrote It in 2018. Fast-forward two years and they returned with I Woke Up Today Laughing and now they make it a trifecta with third outing After The Snow.

The quartet’s buoyant indie musical palette and candid, magnetic lyricism triumphs once again on the project, which stems from a collection of old DIY recordings that lead vocalist, pianist, songwriter and producer Ranelle Labiche penned in her home-town basement when she was in the origins of her initial acquaintance with production. “The songs from my past are very personal and somewhat timeless in my heart. I continued to feel an emotional attachment to the music and lyrics…one that I could not quite let go of yet, so I decided to revisit them with my new band and refined production skills.”

Giving the original cuts a 2021, Elle PF makeover, the culmination of which are the nine deftly crafted tracks of After The Snow. A musical milestone, as well as a personal one for Labiche, who through the project acquired a much-needed sense of completion.
