Chanel has always been fuelled by the spirit of the modern woman. This pre-collection, however, infuses this chicness with a laisez-faire American edge.

Expanding on the monochrome, sharp banker stripe shirts are paired with these pieces. Denim jeans, a symbol of Americana, are embellished with double Cs — while the Chanel code of tweed is evolved with waistcoats. Pink skirt suits are pared down with denim jackets, while baseball stripes evoke pure New York.

Chanel’s creative director Virginie Viard reflects on the coming together of the collection: “Whilst staying true to the essence of CHANEL, it’s fresh to the eye, and a different point of view. It is her view and having people around her who understand her and put the best work out there, just makes the whole experience and story so beautiful.’
