PREMIERE: TONI DADA – “PDA”

The nascent star offers up an intoxicating portrait of punch-drunk love.

toni dada’s music melds together UK Drill and Afrobeats to create a whole new sound. His latest offering “PDA” is exactly how it sounds – dreamy, and floaty – like the beginning of a new love. Too enamoured with one another, dada sings to a girl he just can’t keep his hands off – “I don’t care who’s watching girl I want some PDA”, he imparts.

Blazing into the music scene with his breakout hit “Candy”, dada later unleashed his debut EP “Toni” – which helped to cement his status in the game. Lockdown then hit, which for many offered a time for uninterrupted introspection, and dada took advantage of that. He looked at his music with a whole new perspective, and dada’s oeuvre was born anew. Free from the constraints of genre, dada meanders from Drill, to Soul, to Alt – and beyond. It all depends on the medium his message requires.

“PDA” is a pure example of the young artist’s versatile talent. Addictive guitar hooks join forces with a mellow beat, while dada’s vocals are buttery-smooth. Unveiling the visuals for the track, the music video drives home the feelings “PDA” encapsulates. Opening us up to the bubble lovers create for themselves, we follow dada and his love interest around the city – going deeper and deeper into their world. With critical acclaim and upcoming projects coming out the wazoo – this release is just a glimpse of what else is to come.
