Kicking off 2023 with a hit, the young artist AJA is an empowering female voice that deserves to be heard. Reminding listeners to believe in themselves, and be confident in who they are – AJA delivers this through a silky-smooth vehicle of stellar vocals, and an earworm chorus.

Hailing from Toronto, AJA has really come into her own since her debut in 2020. Now in all her alt-pop glory, the young artist is set on the sights – moving out to Los Angeles to make it happen. From 2022 onwards, AJA has skyrocketed as an artist – garnering a slew of accolades from various radio stations and publications.

This new track is a triumph. “Do This Do That” features addictive guitar riffs, a pulsing beat – the cherry on top being AJA’s vivacious vocals. Reflecting on how the track came to be AJA says, “
I wrote ‘Do This Do That’ about owning my own opinions and not wanting to be told what to do, what to think, what to wear, how to look, etc. I am wanting to take charge over myself and not be influenced by others. Sometimes letting go of the outside noise is so important to get realigned and re-focused. Don’t be afraid to be yourself. Even if it can cause controversy. I think it is so important to be confident in who you are.”

In today’s digital landscape, where our instinct is to not stand out – to put our best foot forward, songs like “Do This Do That” are a stark reminder to enjoy the skin we’re in.
