GUCCI CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR

The House welcomes the Chinese New Year with its playful new capsule collection representing the Year of the Rabbit.

As the festive season leading up to Chinese New Year approaches and Spring draws near, Gucci is unveiling a vibrant capsule collection celebrating the Year of the Rabbit. According to Chinese astrology, rabbits symbolise intelligence, health, and longevity – these themes brought to life in the collection through playful and refined iterations of the zodiac animal.

From ready-to-wear to bags, shoes, accessories, jewellery, and timepieces, the collection is bursting with pops of colour, prints, and embellishments. The rabbit motif appears in a variety of forms, including knitwear, embroidered patches, and a distinctive spray-paint style seen on T-shirts, leather loafers, and G-Timeless watches. Womenswear offers a refined selection of printed silk blouses and bold geometric pieces, while the men’s selection features playful graphic patterns in sporty silhouettes. Shoes bring a touch of whimsy with ear-like bows adorning heels and fleece textures enriching loafers. Special renditions of the house’s signature handbags, including Gucci Diana totes with hand-painted stripes and Gucci Horsebit 1955 shoulder bags featuring precious leathers, tweeds, and studs, complete the capsule.

The campaign, shot by renowned photographer Max Siedentopf, perfectly captures the playful mood of the season, depicting a cast of friends frolicking in a fantastical field of flowers, encountering rabbits and basking in the soft light of the sunrise as they anticipate the start of a new year. Vibrant hues and lively flourishes moments are balanced with more sentimental ones in this dream-like setting. Be sure to check out this collection when it launches on December 27, available in select Gucci stores worldwide and showcased in dedicated window displays and pop-ups inspired by the spray-paint rabbit print.
