Based in East London, nascent artist Kima Otung is repping the entirety of the UK – cherry-picked to be part of the World Cup 2022 showcase with the GREAT Campaign. A far cry from her humble beginnings in the valleys of South Wales, Otung is proud to rep her home at such an illustrious international event.

Otung’s “New New” track is an explosion of energy. Danceable, bright, and vibey – the young artist’s vocals are confident, and self-assured – carrying the thread of its lyrics. Lyrics like “Yeah I’m in a new season, new vision” unfurl onto the soca-inspired beat.

At The Garden of GREAT in Doha is where one would be able to find Otung’s pure musical vibes, along with a film about her, which was opened in November by none other than David Beckham. No biggie! With a star-studded roster including BBC 1Xtra’s Jamz Supernova also on the lineup, Otung really came to represent. And with the way things are headed, she’s only on the up and up.
