PREMIERE: HOOSH – “12 WEEKS”

The nascent singer-songwriter gets introspective with his genre-bending new single.

Hailing from Sudan, Hoosh has been flitting between the Middle East and the US for a while now. Slurping up a wide range of cultural influences, Hoosh’s musical artistry has evolved over time. Kicking off his music career in 2018 with the single “Better Days”, Hoosh has been pushing the envelope ever since. Releasing hit after hit, the 28-year-old artist has been capturing the attention of the likes of Spotify, and Apple Music. Moving towards a more melodic, lyrical approach – the only way is up when it comes to Hoosh.

Melding together R&B, Hip Hop, and Soul – the young artist offers up a unique snapshot into the reticent corners of his mind with new single “12 Weeks”. He gets deep – confronting his unyielding need to satisfy his ego, despite reaching significant personal milestones. Reflecting on how having his guard up is in direct conflict with his intense need for love and companionship – his inner thoughts unfurl over twangy guitar strings, crescendoing synths, and a toe-tapping beat.

Oscillating between rap, alternative acoustic, and indie – Hoosh seamlessly brings together his wide repertoire of references to offer up an unparalleled artistic vision. The visualizer for “12 Weeks” brings Hoosh’s internal conflicts to the surface where the artist’s calm air is at odds with his struggle to stay afloat.

Captivating listeners with his authentic sound, we’re clearly not the only ones taking notice. Having amassed over nine million streams worldwide, people all over the globe are opening their eyes to Hoosh’s trailblazing talent. Just like his worldly upbringing, it’s hard to tell just where Hoosh will end up – but we do know that he’s set to go far.
