Packed with 15 tracks, Marvelous is the latest must-listen album from multi-platinum hip-hop artist Yung Gravy. Featuring the likes of bbno$, Rich Brian, Dillon Francis the album certainly packs a punch. Here are the 10 things you need to know:

1. This is Yung Gravy’s first album in over two years.

2. It’s a sequel to his previous release, Sensational.

3. There were 30 songs recorded for the album that didn’t make the cut – they’re locked away in the vault for the future.

4. No days off! “For this album, I did sessions every day. I’d work on a beat, go home, finish the lyrics and then come back the next day. I’m a perfectionist. I’ll send music to a few people I trust when making music and ask which ones they think sounds the best and I’ll listen to it over and over” explains the artist.

5. The beat and lyrics for “Betty” were finished in one day at the end of a session.

6. “Betty” is Gravy’s only clean song ever.

7. Frank Sinatra and The Rat Pack were a big influence on the record – “When I was making the album, I was listening to a lot of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, so that was what was on my mind. I was also watching a lot of classic movies so for the album cover and the transitions, I pulled from a place of old hollywood, rat pack, [and more] as inspiration.”

8. An alternative title for the album was “Magnificent”. Gravy describes the project as “15 songs to be marvelled at.”

9. “Sugar Mama” is a reworking of a local Madison Wisconsin classic “Sugar” by ishdarr, circa 2016.

10. A plethora of lyrics throughout the album had to be changed for legal reasons, such as “splish splash i was taking a bath.
