Over the past year, SZA has slowly but surely been teasing an upcoming release. There’s no doubt that she’s been playing hard to get – but with the official unveiling of ‘Shirt’ a couple weeks back, our wishful thinking has turned into eager anticipation.

Since the sensational release of Ctrl in 2017, it seems like the entire planet has been longing and praying for more music; our prayers have been answered. Yesterday was the R&B songstress’ birthday – but somehow we were the ones bestowed upon with a gift!

Without much context, SZA took to Twitter to drop the teaser for ‘PSA’. Keeping her cards close to her chest she wrote, “Happy birthday to me. Clock starts now.” In the teaser, sparkling pianos and soft synths underpin SZA’s honey-like voice – which are brought to a crescendo with goosebump-inducing, angelic harmonies. The ethereal quality of the track is brought to the surface by equally stunning visuals – wherein the illustrious artist is surrounded by a ring of neon green flames.

The jury is still out on the album’s title, however, fans have deciphered the morse code displayed at the end of the teaser – “SOS”. The name seems fitting, as this new album will surely be our salvation. And, if the ‘PSA’ teaser is anything to go by – this new release will quite simply be out of this world.
