Filled with nostalgic beats and easy-listening lyrics, “IM-MATURE” sees 20-year-old Jarrod Jeremiah reflect on the carefree freedom of childhood. Inspired by old camcorder footage, the EP combines a laid-back air with sun-soaked sounds, the lead single “Hold My Hand” taking us back to a time free of judgement and worries.
Making it a family affair, the West Aussie star is joined by his sister, JORDANE, on the gospel-inspired lead track and cites artists like Samm Henshaw and Tom Misch as his inspiration. Reflecting on the bittersweet simplicity of his youth, Jeremiah explains “I always thought I needed to write love songs or make up intricate stories… when the real story was right in front me – my life” with “Hold My Hand” poignantly exploring the balance between affection for the past and excitement for the future.
