Homes at Night’s “Wasted On You” sees the duo – Hank Compton and Aksel Coe – yearning for that unique high you exclusively get from that special someone.

“I’m going through this bottle in the afternoon / Wish I was wasted on you” they sing on the track. The noughties-driven alternative rock musical lexicon deployed to detail the sensation is laden with angst and driven by their enthralling topline, and accompanied by the track’s video set at a mansion in a forest, complete with a band of ghosts and collapsing guests.

“Making this video was a whirlwind of an experience,” Homes at Night explain. “The original director we had in mind ended up having a last-minute conflict and [director] Joshua stepped in with a week to plan and shoot it,” Homes at Night explain. “We wanted something Halloween-themed that wasn’t too serious but still looked cinematic. We ended up shooting the entire video in the same location which was a really fun and creative process. We are so proud of this video and grateful for all of our friends that pulled through to help.”

The track precedes the duo’s upcoming debut EP “If You Were A Stranger”, created amidst the global pandemic when their schedules were paused. The project’s has its origins in relaxed recording sessions in Coe’s basement. The result would appear to be yet more of their nostalgic-meets-modern indie storytelling and addictive hooks at the heart of “Wasted On You.”
