MONCLER – THE EXTRAORDINARY EXPEDITION

The brand’s 70th-anniversary exhibition touches down in London as they journey around the world, taking fashion lovers on a voyage into the past.

For a brand like Moncler, with decades of defining moments in outerwear preceding them, suitably celebrating their 70th anniversary could seem a tall order. However, that’s where The Extraordinary Expedition comes in. The multi-city event sees the brand embark on a journey around the world, bringing to life in immersive detail, the epochs that made them the storied fashion institution they are today. Opening in New York earlier this month, the experience lets fashion lovers voyage through a catalogue of Moncler moments, currently open to Londoners at 180 The Strand. Fans in Seoul and Tokyo will be able to take in the brand’s history next month, proving the brand’s 70th anniversary to be a global celebration.

Attendees in any of The Extraordinary Expedition‘s spaces are granted access to a 360-degree journey through the brand’s story. In London, as part of Frieze Week, a distinct exhibition from British portrait photographer Platon displays the Moncler Maya 70 Collaborations, embodied by faces from the fashion, sport, music and entertainment industries. Visitors here and in Seoul and previously New York can embark on a real-time expedition using futuristic technology, starting at a white ‘basecamp’ entrance from where they are guided through Moncler’s history through multisensory film, sound, and narrative design, as well as smell-related effects and simulations of snow and fog. If that’s not a fashion lover’s dream, then we do not know what is.

Head below for a taste of what’s in store, but immerse yourself fully by getting down by Sunday 16th October in London, or at one of the exhibition’s next stops thereafter. Full details are available at 70anniversary.moncler.com/extraordinary-expedition/
