“‘Never Let Me Go’ portrays a theme of ‘loves me.. loves me not’, I wanted to show both sides of questioning a relationship,” says Jamie Cooke as he plucks at petals in the visual for his brand new single. Offering his take on “Never Let Me Go”, the British singer-songwriter explains, ”The track is a soulful, pop/r&b groove with some jazz flicks in it. I wanted to experiment with harmonies in this track to keep that R&B element and push myself to get them really slick, which I love about the song. I wanted to unveil some details about my personal life when writing this song so I could get out some feelings towards my relationship in hope it could connect with people. I haven’t been so honest in a song before which felt relieving and light and something I continue to use in my songwriting. I wanted to keep it fun as I love to make sure my music is bright and something you’d want to listen to in the sun or on the beach, so it’s like an emotional song with an upbeat groove.”
