“The process of making this video was such a trip!” says Chris Mardini on latest release “Throw”. The New York-native finds himself mourning in a graveyard and then himself singing inside a coffin in the morbid magic of the visuals. “It’s been so rewarding to see my own weird ideas come to life via a music video, even though I hate seeing myself on camera.”

The 19-year-old looks set to get used to being the centre of attention, however. Dropping debut self-titled EP in 2021, “Throw”, along with March single “Pockets”, the singer’s journey to widespread notoriety continues on with serious intent. Combining inward thought with captivating societal discussion in his work, Mardini’s blend of Kurt Cobain-inspired classic alt-rock, with a slice of underground hip-hop thrown onto his musical moodboard, plus the classic songcraft of the likes of Jeff Buckley, has the ability to rouse any crowd whilst also making them pause for reflection.
