Elaborating further on the track’s inspiration, the duo explains, “I think there are moments in our lives – often something traumatic that can make us feel like we are deemed to repeat the same stories and live them out in our heads. Often it can feel like every time we take a step forward we take two steps backwards. ‘the sooner it stops, the sooner it starts’ is a conversation we have with ourselves and others to try to let go of those cyclical thoughts and try moving forward instead of being stuck in the past.”
