PREMIERE: PEYTON GILLILAND – “COOKIE JAR”

The 19-year-old rock singer-songwriter returns with her defiant anti-cheating track.

Peyton Gilliland’s latest track not only sees the artist assume her rock star in the making status once again, but it also features the handywork of some of the genre’s most illustrious players. Brian Chirlo (Paramore) and Lincoln Parish (Cage The Elephant) helm the track’s production, with the latter being a fundamental supporter of Gilliland and her work, helping her to channel her evident, organic musical prowess into the fearless performer she is today.

It’s something that couldn’t be more evident on the empowerment anthem “Cookie Jar”, where she sticks a middle finger up to basically, anyone trying to steal her man. Lovelorn tears at the thought of losing her man are not on the agenda on this cut, instead, “hands out of my cookie jar,” Gilliland asserts on the hook of the guitar-laden track, which borrows influences from the likes of Blondie, Joan Jett, and Paramore.

Head below to channel that empowering energy right now, by listening to “Cookie Jar” right now…
