As a faceless figure welcomes lotusbliss into their black and white filtered music video for new track, “Unwired”, the trio drops us into an electro-tinged soundscape that instantly paints the screen with colour. Uptempo in spirit, lotusbliss begins to lament a story that wills us to slow down and take in our surroundings — singing of the future as something that should never be assumed as a given.

Yet despite its dark and brooding undertones, “Unwired” allows us to revive from a waking dream — helping us to heal from the all-consuming noise of the universe and fully connect to ourselves. Speaking further on the track, the band impart, “This song is about being present, about recognising that life is a gift and it’s there to be embraced but easily gets stolen. So often we miss the beauty of simple things around us, focused on progressing to the next big thing ahead; the future fool’s gold.”

Hacked from their EP also out today, “An Aching Sea”, “Unwired” demonstrates the perfect paradox between sentimental narratives and haunting soundscapes that are seen throughout the entire five-track effort.
