On the last day of meteorological summer, as colder weather beckons, at least in Northern Europe, only Arny Margret could make icy temperatures and long nights seem appealing. Thankfully, on “the world is between us” and in particular its captivating video, the 20-year-old, who hails from a sparsely populated peninsula in North-West Iceland spotlights the soothing, still credentials of the glacial climes of which she’s so familiar.

The tranquil, pared-back folk of “the world is between us” and upcoming album they only talk about the weather, due October 21st, as you might expect, has weather and its interaction with our lives at its heart. The video for “the world is between us” was made by acclaimed Icelandic director, Erlendur Sveinsson, with the landscapes where Margret grew up, the ideal companion for her wintery sound. “We shot the video in my hometown in the winter,” she explains, “We had all sorts of weather which was expected, but it is also what we wanted to show. It captures the isolation and loneliness, but also the beauty within it all. It was so nice to work with Erlendur on this, we had a great crew and it was so fun to make, so I hope people like it as much as we do”.

Get lost in the world of Arny Margret now below, and you’ll likely be wishing those colder nights would roll around even faster…
