The video for Quantum Dot’s new track “Breaking Bones”, featuring singer-songwriter, Thorunn Egilsdottir, from acclaimed band, When ‘Airy Met Fairy, tells the story of a power shift in a relationship. As director Raphael Kindig says: “Two actors depict how power has shifted over to the woman. She’s broken-hearted but has no empathy for her former lover, whatever he did it must have been bad. ‘Where is the love now?’” The meditative, spellbinding sonic landscape Quantum Dot facilitates, with the help of the mellifluous vocals of Thorunn, enthrals you thanks to a gritty story of the carnage that follows breaking a lover’s heart.

Quantum Dot was formed in 2014 by Lionel Jeusette and Patrick Ribeiro, establishing a following in European countries like France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg with their compelling sound, characterised by the pairing of acoustic instruments – piano, guitar, violin – with synths, and industrial sounds influenced by the likes of Paul Kalkbrenner and Sohn. The good news is that “Breaking Bones” is the first track taken from their upcoming EP “Random Casualties”, out October 14th, so prepare to be captivated by more musical wonders from the trio in the not-too-distant future.
