Contrary to what its title may suggest, Bloodtype’s latest track “Glamour” is more than just another story about the extravagance and riches of stardom. Delving into an introspective commentary about the performative nature of modern-day society, “Glamour” invites us to contemplate who we truly are — whether we are being authentic, or simply just putting on a show. Delivered over a sparkling melody tinged with nostalgia-triggering synthesisers, Bloodhype employs an 80s aesthetic to the track, reminding audiences of a period where freedom and carefree expression were prioritised over reputation and online ratings.

Offering up his own perspective, guitarist, singer and songwriter Elmar says, “Nowadays we coat ourselves with filters, make ourselves bigger, hotter, better to present our best face to the world. In my experience, this just ebbs away at who we are, until our perception of ourselves can break and tumble down like a house of cards.”

Released alongside a candid music video, Bloodhype perform “Glamour” to an empty crowd, a simple yet beautiful reflection of the track’s message: reminding us all to live for ourselves and not a faceless audience. To stream the track and music video now, head below…
