Honouring the world-renowned British-American 1980s rock band, Foreigner, Stacey Jackson covers their no.1 hit, “Urgent”. Many of us have an all-consuming obsession with the 80s, and for good reason. In her newest single, the spirited artist teams up with the prolific producers Shanghai Surprize and Craig J to reimagine the retro classic into a very energetic modern-day dance hit.

Offering up well-crafted lyricism mingled with a zesty dance groove, “Urgent” reawakens our deep affinity for the era that informed the tune, all the while ensuring that a contemporary sonic edge prevails. When reflecting on the song, Stacey comments, “I’m so excited to put out a brand new dance record this summer! With most of the world opened up again I think people are geared up to dance and party so I thought it would be fun to create a dance track of a record that holds a special place in my heart. My originals are largely inspired by 1980s songs — given that I grew up in that era. I love the band Foreigner for many reasons and I especially love ‘Urgent’ which originally came out when I was 12!”
