After leaving his rural childhood home for Berlin after struggling to fit in, LITO, aka Marlon Bertzbach hoped to really get to know himself. He got married, got divorced, hopped between jobs, started an apprenticeship and left it just before it finished, and started working again. Spending 8 years releasing under the name FINN, he dropped two albums sung in German and played to small and large crowds along the way. However, after parting with his team, he’s landed somewhat at a conclusion and beginning at once. He knows who he is more than ever, deciding he wants to focus exclusively on music from now on, but he’s only just embarking on a fresh, more authentic path. Finality and optimism meshed together, it’s taken a while for the artist to find his freedom, including a name change to LITO, but as new track “Sooner or Later” shows, now he’s got it, he looks unlikely to let it go.

The alt-pop, indie-inflected LITO’s commanding vocal takes centre stage once again on the “Sooner or Later”, which follows “Bed Behaviour” for which he shot an immersive, twisted visual, available to watch below. Coupling catchy melodies with statuesque movie-like production, LITO’s sound, also now only sung in English, is ambitious and crafted with international audiences in mind. The path here may have been long and sinuous, but LITO’s intent is stronger than ever.
