Today, hip-hop is being honoured with the help of an explosive new tune, “Samurai Nation”, served up by musical duo, Taoreta 倧れた. Emphasised within the track’s title, the pair utilises the principles of the Samurai – courage, respect, and honesty – to shatter any false narrative surrounding their beloved genre. Released alongside an accompanying visual that also stands as the fourth instalment of their five-piece film series titled Shadows In Dust, the flowy bars and sharp lyrics see the Leicester-based duo revive the traditional relationship between DJs and MCs – the perfect sound to help kickstart your week, right?

Speaking on the track, the pair explain, “’Samurai Nation’ is all about conquering your fears. Wherever you are, try to defeat your enemies. You don’t always have to attack. You can resist without raising your hand. That’s the real win.”

With an ever-growing commitment to inspire young people through hip-hop, and the single also set to feature on their 12-track double EP of the same name, it becomes clear that this is only the beginning of Taoreta 倧れた’s 2022 takeover.
