When it comes to Charles & Keith’s collaborations, the limit to their vision does not exist. Calling upon the artistic stylings of Spanish-born artist Coco Capitán, Charles & Keith view structured silhouettes as a canvas for a new iteration of their ever-elegant aesthetic, looking to the connotations of nature to create an Autumn capsule that inhabits light, freedom and fun.
Inspired by the classic childhood game, “he loves me, he loves me not”, the collection incorporates the delicate petals of a daisy across its DNA. Stitching blue daisies into chunky black loafers, Capitán’s signature script reads “loves me blue, loves me blue not” across the base — also featuring on a selection of tote bags. Imitating a personalised piece, each item of the collection feels tailored to its owner, establishing a sense of identity while remaining open to interpretation.
Imparting wisdom on the intimate angle of the collection, Capitán explains, “My art is inspired by overheard conversations, diary entries, and sudden waves of introspection. I believe that words can transcend cultures and give us a glimmer of hope for brighter times.”
Despite the promise of brighter times, the capsule largely remains washed in a black hue — providing the ultimate platform for people to take items of clothing and transform them into something totally unique. Forming a collection that speaks to thousands of narratives without saying a word, Charles & Keith continue their legacy as a label that can inspire creativity without extravagance, and encourage experimentation without discomfort.
