A visit to London’s 100 Queen’s Gate Hotel just got even more appealing with the arrival of their new rotating concept menu inside the ESQ Bar. The former home of Victorian aristocrat and explorer, William Alexander, 100 Queen’s Gate and ESQ Bar have designed the menu to change every six months to allow guests to explore a new culture via their tastebuds.

Currently serving up Asian-fusion small plates, designed by executive chef Sofiane Kaced, dishes include yummy prawn tempura, tuna and avocado tartare and chicken karaage or shiitake mushroom bao buns. If you’re more of a sweet tooth, there’s raspberry and lychee mochi and yuzu cheesecake, as well as some truly scrumptious cocktails to accompany your dining experience.

Open from 5pm until 11pm every night, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, ESQ Bar is the perfect eclectic hangout for guests and locals alike with its South Kensington location making it an easy stroll from the V&A and the Natural History Museum.

Elsewhere in the five-star boutique hotel, which is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, the W/A Restaurant and Bar is a Belgian bistro that pays homage to William Alexander’s travels through Belgium and his love of the local beers and cuisine.

Menu highlights include South Ken’s only waffle burger – your choice of beef, spicy breaded chicken, grilled halloumi and falafel, or a beetroot patty, nestled between fluffy Belgian waffles – as well as mussels with a range of sauces, and various steaks.

Of course, there are specialty beers on offer, including Duvel (golden beer), La Chouffe (blond beer) and Chimay Blue Trappist (abbey beer) to compliment the extensive wine list. Open for breakfast, weekend brunch and all-day brasserie style dining, there is no bad time to pay a visit to W/A.

Whether you’re visiting from out of town or want to rest your head after a long day of indulgence, 100 Queen’s Gate is home to 228 uniquely designed guestrooms and suites, split over its six floors. All taking inspiration from the hotel’s previous life as a Victorian period mansion, the 11 suites even have blue plaques outside in a nod to the historic nature of the hotel and some of the borough’s most famous past residents, from Dame Agatha Christie to Alfred Hitchcock.
