Dropping onto our feeds under florescent magenta lights, Paloma Ford gifts us with the sweet symphonies of her brand new track, “Bentley Truck”. Doused with bouncy reverbs and sparkling synths, “Bentley Truck” offers an idyllic soundscape to tuck into when we are feeling like our baddest selves.

On top of kaleidoscopic production, Paloma Ford steals full focus with sugar-coated vocals and confident lyricism. Released alongside a sparkling visual, Paloma is seen living her best life — claiming all the positive energy and vibes for herself with little to no apology.

To celebrate her first release of the year, we caught up with the artist about her inspiration and what is next. To stream the single and music video, and to view the full interview, head below now…

Congrats on your single, “Bentley Truck”! What were some themes that you wanted to explore in the track and video?
“Bentley Truck” is all about feeling good, having confidence in what you have to offer to the world with no apologies.

Where did the concept, as a whole, come from for being that the video is Belly inspired?
I was really inspired by the character Keisha in Belly. She’s beautiful, she’s bold, she has great style and she holds it down for DMX. To me she gives main character energy even with the limited scenes in the film.

Aside from Belly— what are other films or forms of artistry that do you pull inspiration from for your overall aesthetic?
I grew up in the 90s, so I’m heavily influenced by that time period. Everything from Herb Ritts to Hype Williams. Romeo & Juliet to City of God. I study that time period in film and fashion as well as the music.

When would you say is the best time to play “Bentley Truck”?
ANYTIME is the best time! Whether you’re riding in the car with your friends, or you’re at home and you just need something to make you feel good.

When you’re alone in your room/car/shower what’s the first song you put on?
My go-to — “Anything Sade”.

What’s next for Paloma?
More ART!!! I’m forever creating.
