The release of Baz Luhrmann’s new movie, Elvis, has made one thing abundantly clear – we can’t help falling in love with Austin Butler. And as if his warmly-received starring role in the biopic wasn’t enough to have us in all of our fangirl feels, Butler is now providing us with some seriously wholesome content as he graces The River Café Table 4 podcast – cute, right?

Podcast host, Ruthie Rodgers, met Butler in 2021 hot off of the heels of wrapping Elvis and a COVID lockdown, leading them to indulge in a new tradition. With a group of small friends, including the pair, enjoying cooking and Sunday dinners on a regular basis, Butler and Rodgers built an extraordinary friendship.

For more than 30 years, Rodgers’ The River Café London has been a home away from home for writers, activists and politicians. On episode 40 of the celebrated podcast, the host and Austin talk all things comfort food, the actor’s favourite food memories and how he enjoyed his meals when working hard on the set of Elvis – a heartwarming ode to their friendship.
