It’s not often we receive a music video shot entirely through the lens of a single webcam. Especially in today’s industry, where high-tech cameras and intricate editing techniques are often used to maximise the success of a video. Yet Piper-Grace, one of the UK’s most talented young singer-songwriters, proves that a webcam is all you need to provide an enchanting perspective on the intricacies of young love, and all its vulnerabilities.
The official video for her new single, “My Head” provides us with an intimate insight into her world. Filming throughout the different rooms of her home, she captures her day-to-day through the lens of her webcam, reflecting on the deeply introspective tone of the single.
Born and raised in the Southwest of England, with Rihanna and Nina Simone providing sonic detail to her childhood and early singing days, it’s no surprise that Piper-Grace provides us with all the soulful and sultry R&B sensibilities necessary for a summers day such as this.
The track will feature alongside singles “Caught up” and “Things Lovers Do” to create the perfect combination of lyrics for her forthcoming EP.
