Chlöe Bailey – “Surprise”

What better way to kickstart your Friday than with the sweet and soulful sounds of Chlöe Bailey? With a slowly winding R&B backing setting an infectiously sensual tone, which is set ablaze by a thumping beat and, of course, the artist’s syrupy tone, fire is sure to be lit within listeners upon the second “Surprise” graces their ears. Coming complete with a steamy music video in which Chlöe entertains her man with some seriously sexy moves, it is fair to assume that you’ll be in the mood for romance this weekend, all thanks to the singing sensation. Ladies, grab your fellas!

FLOHIO – “Cuddy Buddy”

Baring heart and soul in her compelling new single, FLOHIO’s “Cuddy Buddy” permeates with a vulnerability that is as impactful as it is comforting. Blending sombre piano keys with wavering synthesisers, the track is a raw exploration of mental exhaustion and anxieties. Elaborating on the inspiration behind the single, FLOHIO imparts, “Have you ever been at a point where you feel your energy being drained? Because that was me, I was at a stage where I felt my energy being drained and ‘Cuddy Buddy’ was me expressing how mentally tired I was. We captured the hook on the first day, but the verses I wanted it to be impactful so I kept coming back to it months after.”

Tom Zanetti – “Slow Down”

With last week’s Wonderlist being one for the sad girls, it is undeniable that our pre-party playlists have been in dire need of plumping. As always, Tom Zanetti has come straight to our aid with a base-heavy track, titled “Slow Down”. With plenty of Zanetti’s biting bars to devour and sing into the air of a smoke-filled club, “Slow Down” has put up a hell of a fight to become our anthem of the summer.

Yung Gravy – “Betty (Get Money)”

After a fairly hectic work week, there is nothing we crave more than the light-hearted chaos and irresistible tunes of Yung Gravy. And, as though he sensed our need for an extra strong dosage of his sparkling spirit, he has released his latest track “Betty (Get Money)”. Reigniting the uptempo classic of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”, Yung Gravy successfully put a smile on our faces on our long (and sweaty) commute home.

Freddie Elmberg – “The Bouncer”

We all know them, we greet them at the start and end of every good and bad night out. And now, Freddie Lemberg is offering them their own space in his kaleidoscopic new single, “The Bouncer”. Written from his own perspective as an ex-bouncer, the piano-led tune reflects on the often forgotten narrative of the overlooked members of our society. Filled with Elmberg’s classic production and poignant story-telling, “The Bouncer” has well and truly plunged us into our feels — and we’ll definitely be smiling a little brighter to the ones we meet on our next night of debauchery.
