You wouldn’t think that a plain black background and some simple white typewriting would cause the internet – and the entirety of the population – to explode into chaos. But then again, the laws of nature don’t often keep up with Beyoncé. Ferociously iconic and forever innovative, the ripple effects of her last album Lemonade can still be felt and seen amongst every woman-scorned playlist. But now, emerging from the ashes of her heartbreak-soaked effort, Beyoncé is entering her own personal RENAISSANCE — announcing her seventh solo album, dropping July 29th.

Though the details of its content are still as ominous as Beyoncé herself, the title alone points towards the promise of a project unlike anything she has launched before. Naming the sixteen-track album part i… RENAISSANCE, we can only hope this will be the first instalment of multiple projects — a small penance for the six-year wait we have spent manifesting new material from the record-breaking artist.
