PREMIERE: NAT SLATER – “4 LEAF CLOVER”

The rising London artist offers her own contemporary take on R&B in her sparkling new single.

Self-proclaiming herself victim of being “unlucky in love”, Nat Slater offers us a hefty dosage of 90s nostalgia with her charming new singe, “4 Leaf Clover”. Equal parts sensual and sparkling, the track’s light and airy melody lends the perfect stage to Nat’s ethereal vocals, which narrate a desire to finally find her person.

Speaking on the making of the single, Slater explains, “I wrote ‘4 leaf clover’ about my failed love life lol. It’s basically saying that I could find a perfect person for me, ticks every box, but somehow everything would still end up going wrong. And all my friends would always be chatting to me about their happy relationships, I was just like damn can’t relate. I wrote the song in my bedroom, it made me laugh.”

Adding to her portfolio of laid back R&B-style tunes, Nat Slater has managed to curate her own signature blend of contemporary soundscapes — making her music all the more addictive. While “4 Leaf Clover” reflects on Slater’s tendency to compare herself to her friends, it is clear that her sound is second to none.
